Wedding season is upon us and there are so many romantic locations to choose from how will you possibly decide? Whether you’re looking for adventure or relaxation I’ve got the perfect honeymoon for you.

See that little blue pool to the right? Yeah, that was our hotel. See the three windows above the pool?  That was our room! It had the best view of the sunset I have ever seen.

Santorini, Greece – This beautiful island is the epitome of romance. It boasts some of the most beautiful sunsets in the world. There is a vast difference from one side of the island to the other. On the south end there is a beautiful red sand beach you have to do somewhat of a hike to get to, but it worth the trek. On the Northern end is where the iconic white buildings and blue rooftops are perched on the clifftop overlooking the sea. October is a great time to visit this Island as the rates are lower because it is towards the end of busy season. We were able to stay at Oia Mare Villasfor only $135 a night including breakfast, and were even upgraded to the superior studio because it was slow season! If you have a week off I recommend visiting other islands such as Mykonos just a ferry ride away, or a short flight to Athens to experience some history. If you are able to get 2 weeks I suggest pairing Greece with Italy. I’m particularly fond of Venice as that is where I had my honeymoon, but Cinque Terre is also one of my favorite locations in Italy.

This is the cute town of Banff. Even in the middle of winter it was a comfortable 30 degrees. There are many shops and restaurant to enjoy. Don’t forget to try some traditional poutine!

Lake Louise & Banff National Park, Canada – This location is meant for the adventurous couple. I recommend staying at the Fairmont Chateau Lake Louise, the view of the lake and mountains outside this hotel are stunning. This location can be enjoyable in any season. In the summer you can enjoy canoe rides on the crystal blue water of Lake Louise, and hikes in the surrounding mountains. In the Winter you can ice skate on Lake Louise, go skiing, enjoy the hot Springs in Banff, or just strolling through the cute town of Banff.

In downtown San Juan you can enjoy the traditional meal of Paella while watching the old tradition of Flamenco dancers – they are quite impressive!

Puerto Rico – The convenience of this Hispanic island is that you don’t need a passport! It has the perfect mix of beach, culture and adventure! You can go to El Tunco rain forest for a day of hiking, and also visit downtown San Juan to see the historic forts and some flamenco dancing.

This was one hotel where we did not want to even leave the property – and really isn’t that what a honeymoon is all about?! Skinny dipping anyone? 🙂

Bali, Indonesia – This is quite the trek, and may cost a pretty penny to get there, but once you arrive you can live like a king on a dime. We stayed at New Pondok Sara Villas and it only cost about $140 a night. It included breakfast, internet, and most importantly your own private pool! You can also get massages or a pedicure on the beach for as little as $5 bucks! Enjoy seafood? Crab dinner can cost as little as $10. I also recommend taking a tour to Ubud and surrounding areas to see the monkeys, ride an elephant, and to see the temples.

This is by far the nicest room I have ever stayed in at the Hard Rock Punta Cana – and get this –  this is just the entry level room! No need to feel guilty staying in when you can order room service, and pop champagne (both included) while in the jacuzzi tub. Also there is two shower heads in the shower. This is one room you will never want to leave. Hubba hubba!

All-Inclusive Hotel – If you want the least stressful honeymoon this is the way to go! The beauty of an all inclusive is you never have to leave resort or pull out your credit card if you don’t want to. It can be a relaxing trip with a drink in your hand and your toes in the sand, or if you prefer you can join in on the activities at the resort, or book a tour! It’s all what you make it. But with so many resorts and destinations to choose from it’s hard to decide! I personally recommend Sandals, Couples, Hardrock, Zoetry, or RIU resorts. I suggest working with your local travel agent, as they are the true experts on all your resort options.
